Sniper in Ghillie Suit

The sniper adjusts his grip on the rifle slowly. Wind moves the ghillie suit threads and the grass around him. Mist drifts through the valley below. He settles his breathing, chest rising and falling once. [cut] Slow push in on the scope. His eye narrows behind the lens. His finger moves from the guard to the trigger. The sun flares across the scope glass. [cut] The rifle kicks. A sharp crack echoes across the valley. Birds scatter from the treeline below. Spent brass tumbles off the rock edge in slow motion, catching the golden light as it falls. The sniper chambers the next round without moving his eye.
