Giallo Lookalike

Visual language: A 1976 giallo set inside a mirrored underground railway station built in futuristic 1970s style, with curved silver walls, violet fluorescent light and dozens of distorted reflections. Slow lateral tracking, split-focus compositions and extreme close-ups of eyes comparing reflections. Characters: a bland, soft-spoken man whose face seems strangely familiar and an eccentric female police sketch artist with sharply geometric black hair. Dialogue is English with nasal, slightly tinny vintage ADR. Music: pulsing synthesizer, muted drums and train echoes.

0:00–0:04 — Recognition: The artist stares at the man and says, “I have drawn your face six times this month.”

0:04–0:08 — Calm reply: He smiles politely. “I have never met you.”

0:08–0:12 — Explanation: She narrows her eyes. “Six different witnesses described you.” He asks, “Were the crimes similar?” 0:12–0:15 — Twist: She says, “No. Neither were the descriptions.” She finally realizes that her own drawings always resemble the same man because she unconsciously draws her ex-husband’s face.

Audio: Underground ventilation, distant train rumble and a small synthesizer chirp as her embarrassment replaces suspicion.
